How to Decide on Output Compatibility with iPod or PSP
If you are trying to convert a video using 99bytes Video to PSP/iPod Converter, you might wonder what you could do with the Compatibility selector. The answer is that it allows you to decide on a certain format for the video that will be produced by the software.
The default option is iPod and older PSPs, which means that the movie will be playable on both iPod and older PSP devices (so if you own both of these devices, you should choose this option). By older PSPs we are referring to PSP devices that have a firmware version less than 2.80. If you don't know what firmware version your PSP has, go to this page: How to Find out what Firmware is Your Sony PSP Running.
The next option is iPod and newer PSPs, which means that the movie will be playable on both iPod and newer PSP devices (so if you own both of these devices, you should choose this option). By newer PSPs we are referring to PSP devices that have a firmware version greater than (or equal to) 2.80. If you don't know what firmware version your PSP has, go to this page: How to Find out what Firmware is Your Sony PSP Running.
The last option is Just iPod, which means that the movie will be playable just on iPod devices. If you have an iPod, but you don't have a PSP, this is the option that you should use. The advantage that comes with this option, as compared to the previous 2 options, is that you'll get a larger range of available resolutions (from which you can choose by clicking the Advanced Settings button).
